 Educational Tour May 30 - June 5, 2002
To Celebrate the Golden Jubilee Weekend
of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II

Thursday May 30th 2002

   Departure from the U.S.A.

Friday May 31st 2002

    Arrive in London.    A fully qualified ‘Blue Badge’ guide will arrange airport transfers to the luxurious Goring Hotel (or Royal Westminster Hotel - see note at end), situated very close to Buckingham Palace.

    Early morning coffee and pastries will be arranged prior to checking into rooms.

    Remainder of the day at leisure.

    This evening a welcome drinks party in the private home of Charles and Jane Fry.     This beautiful house, situated in the heart of Belgravia, overlooks a delightful park.

    Supper at the hotel.

    Overnight at the Goring Hotel.    Morning coffee,  cocktails, Supper.

Saturday June 1st 2002

    Today take a trip on the London Eye, the newest and most popular attraction in the city.    This huge Ferris wheel gives a wonderful perspective over the whole of London.

    Lunch on board a boat drifting along the River Thames.      Take a panoramic tour of the main places of interest on the return journey to the hotel.

    This evening, by kind invitation of the Cheshire Regiment, attend a cocktail party on the roof of the Wellington Barracks overlooking the gardens of Buckingham Palace.    There will be a classical concert in the garden of Buckingham Palace this evening so there will be an opportunity to hear this.        

    Dinner at leisure.

    Overnight at Goring Hotel, English breakfast, lunch with wine, cocktails.

Sunday June 2nd 2002

    Drive to Windsor  this morning.     HM the Queen is visiting the town of Windsor today as part of her Golden Jubilee celebrations.

    We have secured two rooms overlooking the grounds of Windsor Castle and giving a wonderful view of the High Street where the Queen will be driven in her carriage.

    This morning attend a special Service for the Jubilee at St George’s Chapel, Windsor.   HM the Queen will attending this service.

    Later a celebration lunch will be held in the rooms.    Guests will have the opportunity to wander around the town to see the various events that are planned for the Queen’s visit, whilst having a base to return to for refreshments etc.

    Return to London.    Dinner at leisure. 

    Overnight at the Goring Hotel, English breakfast, lunch with wine, afternoon tea.

Monday June 3rd 2002

    Spend today in London enjoying the various activities planned for the Jubilee.

    Picnic lunch in one of the Royal Parks.

    Later this evening go to the Mall  to watch HM the Queen light a beacon that will be the first of many lit around the country.    There will also be a firework display on the Mall.

    Overnight at the Goring Hotel, English breakfast, Picnic lunch, Dinner with wine.

Tuesday June 4th 2002

    Today is the Procession of Her Majesty The Queen from Buckingham Palace to St Paul’s Cathedral.     The State carriage, used for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, will carry Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.

    We have booked a good vantage point to see the Procession as it proceeds up the steps of St Paul’s.

    Lunch will be arranged in the same venue.

    This afternoon drive to the Mall where there will be a fly-past of veteran planes and also a carnival procession.        The Queen  and members of the Royal Family will appear on the Balcony of Buckingham Palace for the fly-past.

    Farewell cocktail party this evening

    Overnight at the Goring Hotel, English breakfast, lunch with wine.

Wednesday June 5th 2002

    Departure Day Transfer to airport for your return flight home. Bon Voyage!
